I am pleased to announce that as part of my commitment to support local community groups, we will be working on Saturday 3rd November 2018 with the Shaw Park Restoration Group and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to clean up Shaw Park (Holywell Green) as part of a Helping Hands Day.
Shaw Park is a beautiful park that has many historic elements and natural attractions. It is important that we work to preserve, keep and look after these community spaces for the good of so many local people. The Shaw Park Restoration Group have worked tirelessly over the years to maintain this park and I am looking forward to helping them in their work.
Members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints from the Halifax Ward will also be joining us as part of their annual Helping Hands day. This is a joint venture with the Church who organise such community events yearly. It is exciting to bring these organisations together.
Our local MP, Craig Whittaker is also planning to attend.
We are meeting at 9:55am in the Car Park off Station Road, Holywell Green.
